Reuse of Sidewalk Concrete

General

Architecture

I’d like to share this project we built in the town of Cazenovia, NY on a site called the Willow Patch. It uses weirs made of salvaged sidewalks and an old foundation to retain stormwater for sedimentation and infiltration. The Cazenovia Preservation Foundation owns the site, design and construction was funded with a grant from the Central New York Community Foundation and matching labor and materials from the Town of Cazenovia. It was designed and managed by a team largely from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Faculties of Landscape Architecture and Engineering, led by Professor Matthew Potteiger and Tobiah Horton.
