where recycling meets design
This recent design by Patrick Kruithof is a good example of how old and new materials can be successfully combined in one object. Three wheels and a thick piece of multi-ply board support a reused washing machine drum for transport through the city.
“It’s really fun to walk around town with this nomadic barbecue. It feels like taking your dog for a stroll. With all the twigs and other organic materials around it is easy to keep the fire going. At one moment I can prepare food sitting on a shady park bench, the next I am on the move again to find a nice spot in the sun.”
A copyleft manual of how to create a hanging version of this barbecue can be found at themomentcompany.nl
