during a three day workshop 15 designers, researchers, architects, artists and real estate developers have been mapping the regeneration of Transvaal. Transvaal is a regeneration district in The Hague where 3000 dwellings are demolished and 1500 bigger houses will be built. The goal of the event is to investigate the potential of districts like these for future development. One of the maps by 2012Architects shows the total amounts of materials extracted during the operation that will last another ten years.
The stats show the surface of brick, stairs, wooden boards and beams, windows and doors superposed at real scale over the district.
This harvest is supposed to open thinking on a different reuse, and different construction of urban areas.
