pallet house heijplaat

In the former high-tech ship wharf Frederik Pöll is constructing his new low-tech pallet house prototype. Using pallets for main construction, filling them with redundant cloth from the neighbouring recycling company and covering them with Appelsientje (Dutch orange juice company) truck tarpaulins that were wasted after the brand changed its style.

In some weeks the pallets will be fixed into a 30m2 housing prototype, and used in the direct neighbourhood.

This pavilion is made possible with generous help of:

Woonbron Kristal, Oranje Demolishing, ‘Pallethandel Centrum’ and the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture and Urban Design.
