For the third consecutive year, the city of Kaunas in Lithuania approached artist Jolanta Šmidtien? to assist with their annual holiday decorating. The author of idea, saying that she wanted to show how it is important to be different each year, show to everyone that each of us can make something beautiful from useless things. The result is an enormous 13-meter tall Christmas tree made from nearly 40,000 recycled green bottles and zip ties. At night the tree is lit from the inside resulting in a glowing, translucent, emerald green spruce that’s making headlines across the country.
