This car is a first prototype for a new re-use productionline of Hong Kong Craftsmen. It is built from old car tires, scrap wood and bent steel waterhose. Since new (chinese) products are overflooding the market, local craftsmanship is about to disappear. The car was designed by students from the HKdesign school, trying to incorporate new design with local skills. This July the HK design school in cooperation with The Blue House from Holland and the School for Indiginous Creativty tries to boost the proces of connecting craftmanship with new design by inviting dutch designers to share their knowledge on products and production processes.
The car is for sale for 500 HK dollars.
