on the third day of the 66th Cannes Film Festival, chaos reigned. While police were busy investigating a nearby jewel heist, gunshots reportedly rang out over the Promenade on Friday—spurring a French television crew and festival-jury member Christoph Waltz, who was being interviewed, to duck for cover mid-broadcast. The interruption was brief, though. Once police apprehended a suspect, the Riviera revelry resumed and a wave of eye-catching looks—including a sprawling gown constructed of gilt biscuit trays—swept down the red carpet.
